This is a town where virtually anything can happen and where almost any idea can take wing. And because of this, this is also a town where we’ve got a great deal to be thankful for.
This week we’re sharing a few of the many wonderful ideas people posted on There Is a Place.
Have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
• There is a place where an entire city shares one big, beautiful front yard — James
• There is a place where my dog has her own park — Mackenzie
• There is a place where progress and community lift and strengthen one another — Jen
• There is a place where you know everyone yet can make new friends everyday — Todd
• There is a place where you can work for a world headquarters company and be at your son’s school play over your lunch hour! — Susan

On the twenty-fifth of November, in the ville of the Lou,
In the cool of the town, the cool we all knew,
We were Thanksgiving-planning . . .
Enjoying the city’s great joys . . .
When Lou the ambassador heard a small noise.
So Lou stopped working. He looked towards the sound.
“That’s funny,” thought Lou. “There’s no one around.”
Then he heard it again: “Cease and desist!”
As if some tiny person were downright . . . annoyed.

Q: “Is there something in the water in Louisville? For some reason, it
continues to attract a core group of innovators and creators who
operate at the absolute highest level in the world.”
So sayeth The Urbanophile in digging on IdeaFest.
The
IdeaFestival shows that when smaller Midwestern or Southern cities
decide they want to compete out there in the 21st century realm of
ideas, they can actually do it and be successful. This is an example
for other cities and other innovators to emulate.
He’s so very right.
