We moved here in 1980 and never left because it was such a great place to live then – only gotten better. I hear this all the time from other “transplants” who have come and stayed. If you are one of them, now’s your chance to spread the word about why you love it here and chose to stay.
My Lady Louavull is my favorite photographic subject. I love this city, its past, its present and its future. We have everything that NY has except on a smaller scale and who needs a pro team when we have so many great college programs in the surrounding area. How many cities can you get from one end to the other in less than 30 minutes, excluding rush hour traffic? How many cities have a Great Lawn and as many park systems within it’s city limits? A few I’m sure, but not as great as ours.
Love this city, and love the citizens in Louisville! So much to do and the people are truly wonderful!Check us out!
I love Louavull…..no mater how you pronounce it, its a great place to live, shop and raise a family!
Moved here in 1994 and had no idea where Louisville was. Fell in love immediately….People were the BEST!! Through lots of job changes we managed to stay and now we are retired right here. After living all our life back east what a change this was…Love the lifestyle, weather and the change in our pocketbook…..
Came in ‘97 for a 3-year grant position — had no thoughts of staying longer, so we bought a tiny house, but then we got the bug and here we stay. Love this place!
I moved here 3 years ago, in 2006. (Was here 7 month in 2004 & 2005) I am happy to have moved to this friendly city. I love the way Louisville supports and celebrates its international community. I love its large beautiful parks and that it is planning to set aside even more parkland. I love its commitment to becoming more and more of an ecologically friendly city. I love the Day of Thunder fireworks, Worldfest, Americana World Festival,Trolly hop, community bike and hike, and other community activities and festivals that are free or virtually free to all, assuring that no one need be left out. I love that it seeks progressive solutions for economic and social health and equity. I hope that it will not grow too large too fast to retain its beauty and charm.
After relocating to Louisville for employment, 29 years later, I cannot think of anywhere else I have enjoyed living or would rather live as much as here! It was a wonderful place to raise my kids, much like the town where I grew up, and it’s a large city that still retains much of a smaller city’s charm. It is progressive, diverse and offers everything my family and I need from restaurants, to the arts and sports!
Hey, great Louisvillians,
Be sure and come out and support this great new event! This faire will just make Louisville all the better.
The Almost Famous Authors’ faire will showcase authors from around the region and will bring readers and writers together for a day of sharing the love for the written word!
Who: AFAF is the acronym for the Almost Famous Authors’ Faire.
What: The Almost Famous Authors’ Faire is being built as an phenomenal event for ‘Almost Famous’ authors of all ages and types of genres to showcase their fresh talent to readers of all ages!
When: The Almost Famous Authors’ Faire is being held November 7, 2009.
Where: The Almost Famous Authors’ Faire is being held in the magnificent Archibald Cochran Ballroom at the historic Galt House Hotel.
Why: The Almost Famous Authors’ Faire is being held to showcase ‘almost famous’ authors. There is a significant void in the venues that ‘almost famous’, authors have available to showcase their fresh writing talents directly to the reading public. The Almost Famous Authors’ Faire provides the perfect venue to bring these ‘almost famous’ authors together with avid readers that are starved for bright talent in this day of mind-numbing, remanufactured novels from the giant publishing venues that no long seek genuine talent, but only insane profit margins.
How: ‘Almost Famous’ authors from all over the United States, and even from abroad, are being invited to this exhilarating faire. The will be given a four-foot section of table to showcase their books. They will sell and autograph their treasures for eager readers, hungry for the fresh talent being offered to them. The ‘almost famous’ authors will keep all profits from the sell of their books, unlike other book faire in the state that stick their hands in the struggling ‘almost famous’ authors pockets and take away much of their profit.
I absolutely love Louisville! The atmosphere here is incredible. The people are genuinely friendly, funny, savvy and smart! Such a nice diversity of people, places and yes possibilities!
Museums, great sports abound, bars, nightlife, art, shopping, great places to dine…on a budget to the nicer side of life!!! It is all here in one town. You know there are so many “Free” nightlife happenings in this great town every summer. The parks and waterfront are spectacular! I have been coming here every weekend since June. Crown Plaza is my home away from home. That hotel rocks! Now, I’m in the midst of making Louisville my home!!
Yes, I’m moving on up to the good life and am looking oh so forward to my Possibility City and new life that will be so abundantly filled. OHH OHHH OHHH almost forgot, I love LouisvilleMojo.com !!!!!!
Louisville is one of the greatest places to get away and spend some time. Locals are always friendly and something seems to alway be happening.
Louisville is a great city to host an Ironman triathlon event. The weather is great, the terrain is challening, and the people are fantastic. My family has come down to Louisville for the past two years to compete, and we’ll continue to race there in the future.
Keep up the great work and your city will continue to garner the attention of triathletes from around the world.
Visited Louisville twice in the last year. My wife and I fell in love with the city and it’s wonderful people. We are making plans to make the drive from Richmond Va. back to Louisville on Rt.60 in a ventage sports car.
I had a great time visiting Louisville for Beatlemania and plan to come back every year and make it an annual event.
Came to Louisville for grad school. What a lovely city! I still return regularly, both for Presbyterian Church concerns and because I love the downtown area and the whole feel of the place. It’s a universe unto itself. Now my friends consult me before visits… and I’ve converted them all to a deep love of Derby Pie.
have visited Lou a couple of times and really enjoyed my stay.

I sell and create Beautiful and unique Kentucky Derby Hats. At Courtyard (Airport area) Marriott. The week before Derby. Hope to see you during that week! Planning on having some Spectacular HATS!
EVERYONE LOVES DERBY!
