Vote for Louisville’s Top Drop

August 10th, 2010 by admin | See what 52 other Friends of Lou had to say about this.

Here in the gateway to Bourbon Country, it’s possible to have more than one favorite bourbon of course. But just for fun, we want to know what your “go-to” bourbon is. We’ve tried to pick a brand from every Kentucky distiller, but you can also write in your choice if you don’t see yours listed.

Think long. Think hard. If you must, stop by any of the nine local bars/restaurants on the Urban Bourbon Trail to remind your tastes buds. And to make getting there even easier, download the iPhone application by clicking here. Once you’re ready, click below to vote. (Since all of these are our favorite, we decided to list the bourbons in a random order.)

There’s a bad bourbon from KY? Nawwwh don’t think so! Much like scotches, each has it’s own character and bouquet. You have to learn to appreciate each based on individual merits. Have someone set up several shots of different distillers and then drink them without looking at the label. You’ll be surprised at what you discover about your bourbon preferences. Mine turned out to be Woodford, but they ALL tasted excellent! KY Bourbons for the WIN!!

Voted for Pappy, but many great ones on the list. Maker’s at the top? Their marketing people must be proud.
