2011: Louisville’s Got Your Number
Louisville Gets Its 50th MayorIt’s the first week of the new year and there’s already a lot happening in Possibility City.
The biggest deal, of course, is the inauguration of Louisville’s new mayor, Greg Fischer.
The Power of OneAt the Inauguration Mayor Fischer spoke meaningfully about what lies ahead for this great city. He talked about the Power of One, and what this city is possible of making happen when we come together. Having run on a positive message of possibility and diversity, the mayor’s speech re-echoed the sentiment that we are “One City, One Community, and One Family” — that we’re all joined in a common desire for unity, and that unity will bring us opportunity and growth.

One-Hundred-and-Thirty-Six Seconds of PossibilityHere’s a video about the incredible forces we can look at harnessing in the future. It embraces the breadth of our neighborhoods; the richness of our many cultures, lifestyles, and values; our ability to be accommodating, entrepreneurial, and competitive all at once; and above all, our irrepressible spirit of possibility, accessibility, and can-do-it-iveness. Once you’ve seen it, post it to Facebook, forward it to a friend, or just watch it until your heart can’t swell any further.
