Louisville: Where Dudes and Dudenesses Abide
I’ll tell you what I’m blathering about. I’ve got information, man!
Lebowski Fest — the annual rite to the cult classic The Big Lebowski — is back home in Possibility City.
Held in venues from New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle, Chicago, and most recently San Francisco, Lebowski Fest is a two-day party that opens July 10 with a screening of the film and a variety of musical performances, and concludes (after much madness and mayhem) with a bowling party on the 11th.
So whether you’re a Dude, a Walter, a Maude — or yes, even a nihilist — mark your calendar and plan to abide at any one of a multitude citywide locations.
Mr. Lebowski is prepared to make a generous offer
The first Leowski Fest, in 2002, used this Louisville bowling alley. EMAIL us its name and win from among the following:
- One of five Lebowski Fest posters by Louisville’s Main Dude Bill Green.
- A pair of passes for the entire Lebowski Fest weekend — including 2 tickets for the Movie Party and 2 tickets for the Bowling Party.
- An autographed copy of I’m a Lebowski, You’re a Lebowski.
You’re not dealing with morons here
It’s called Possibility City for many reasons. One of those reasons is that it’s possible to attend a whole bunch of different (and we do mean different) festivals inside a pair of weekends:
• Welcome Home to Louisville Festival
• Kentucky Shakespeare Festival
• Waterfront Independence Festival
• Forecastle Festival
• The Louisville Blues-n-Barbecue Festival
• The First Louisville Visual Arts Festival
Well, maybe you and me could pool our resources?
If you love Louisville, make it official by sharing this Email with a friend.
Better yet, do your darndest to get them to become an official Friend of Lou. Just like you. Dude.

Gotta love a festival about bowling, white Russian drinks, and a carpet.
The correct nomenclature is rug, Dude.
