BOOOO-YAH!! Nobody Does Halloween Better
Louisville is home to more Halloween events and attractions than almost any other place in the United States: in fact, this year Possibility City has over 20 haunted attractions, including numerous Halloween events, parties, and haunted places.

Tell Us How Scary Louisville Is
To be fair, Louisville’s about the least scary place on earth to live . . . but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few things that send collective shivers up and down our spines (Rick Pitino’s white suits, memories of the Fleur de Lis Fountain, the floor at Tewligan’s, and more).

If you can think of equally frightening things, click HERE to tell us about them.

Better yet, vote on the top-five things we came up with by clicking the VOTE button below.

Did You Know . . .
Louisville is home to several creepy phenomena?

  • The Goatman — According to suburban legend, Louisville’s favorite chimera, the bloodthirsty Goatman, lurks under a railroad trestle on Pope Lick Road near Jeffersontown.
  • Eastern Cemetery — Starting in the 1850s the owners of Eastern Cemetery began reselling graves, digging through previously interred bodies to add to existing graves in what is considered to be the largest American cemetery desecration on record.
  • The Resurrectionist — Dubbed the Resurrectionist of Louisville, Simon Kracht would dig up fresh bodies from the city’s cemeteries and deliver them to the medical school for use as medical cadavers. Worse, he would toss unwanted body parts into a well at Eighth and Chestnut.
  • The Demon Leaper — In the early 1900s Walnut Street Baptist Church’s neighbors began spotting something lurking on the rooftop of the building at 1143 South Third Street. The “creature” was described as a human with bat-like wings.
  • Louisville is home to one of the world’s scariest buildings, Waverly Hills Sanatorium, which has been featured on several TV shows.

Stress is common to everyone. Our bodies are designed to feel stress and react to it. It keeps us alert and ready to avoid danger. But it is not always possible to avoid or change events that may cause stress and it is easy to feel trapped and unable to cope. When stress persists, the body begins to break down and illnesses can occur. The key to coping with stress is to identify stressors in your life and learn ways to direct and reduce stress. If you have a chronic illness such as diabetes or kidney disease, follow your doctor's guidelines to keep these conditions in control.
