Louisville, Where There’s Food for Thought
A Quality of Life to Dine for
What happens when a bunch of creative, smart, and entrepreneurial people get together? More specifically, what happens when a bunch of creative, smart, entrepreneurial, and hungry people get together?
They start a bunch of awesome restaurants, is what.
Welcome to Louisville, a city that boasts more locally owned restaurants per capita than any other city (other than NYC) in America. From landmarks like Mike Linnig’s and Big Momma’s, to the soon-to-be-classics like the Blind Pig and Toast, this is one of the greatest places around to find and enjoy an outstanding and imaginative variety of food.
Here’s a nifty little video we found on the ShareLouisville Web site (which is also worth sampling, by the way):

Different Courses for Different Horses?
Ok, so you probably know it’s almost time for the Derby. But did you know that this year Louisville is host to the Taste of Derby, a new event from the folks at Churchill Downs that showcases some of the best chefs from around the country?
Eleven top chefs from the Big Apple to the Big Easy will all converge to create and serve regional specialties. (And yes, there’ll be a strong local contingent there too.) General admission is $250.00, but you, food-loving Friend of Lou, can score two free tickets by sharing your favorite local recipe with us. Just ADD YOUR COMMENT BELOW to make our taste buds water. And remember . . . points for style.
Check, Please!
Before we bid you a warm and fond adieu — as opposed to a chocolate fondue, say — here are a few links for any of you who love local food as much as we do:
