Louisville: Where Every Day Is Sunday

Oh, the Sun Shines Bright . . .
Louisville boasts four seasons a year, but nowhere in the small print does it mention months like June.

According to the National Weather Service this was the hottest June Louisville’s ever experienced; the average temperature in the city was 81.1 degrees, 6.9 degrees above normal. The previous record for was for June 1952, when the average temperature topped out at 80.6 degrees.

Now, we don’t know about you, but in a city famed for making darn near anything possible, we thought it was time someone did something beside drink iced tea and fuss.

So we took matters into our own hands. We assembled a team of researchers and meteorologists and people who wear glasses and came up with a two-pronged solution:

As your hearts and minds swell with pride at the thought of the world tuning in to watch one of the planet’s greatest sporting events, spare a thought for those poor, clueless souls who have not yet been exposed to the passion, the spectacle, and the sheer blow-your-seersucker-suits-and-Derby-hats-off-your-mint-julep-drinking-bodies excitement that is . . .
