shareHome-made videos about Possibility City? Shoot!
Louisville is rich with attractions, from the Ali Center to one of the nation’s finest urban park systems. Now there’s a place where people from Louisville or beyond can share their favorite attractions online.

It’s called the Share Louisville Project, and it’s a Web site where people can upload their own videos about Louisville.

Click here to visit the site.

Not only will you find loads of places you probably already love, but you’ll find some new ones you might not have even thought of as attractions, like the creek at Big Rock or a cool, quirky video featuring many of our local eateries.

Better yet, there’s a even a nifty “Share” function so you can send videos to friends. You can even send the video of the adorable dog in the cycling helmet. . . .

If you or someone you know has a hankering (or better yet, a video camera) to make a short movie about Louisville, you can click here to get the down-low on on the upload. There are giveaways and prizes, so think of it as two-way holiday gift between you and Possibility Citizens.

Possibility City: This You Should Believe Already

April 9th, 2009 by lou | Click here and tell us how you really feel.

A City That Inspires Belief
“I have always believed in myself, even as a young child growing up in Louisville, Kentucky. . . .”

And so begins this week’s essay “I Am Still the Greatest,” from This I Believe, as shared by Muhammad Ali.

This I Believe is a national media project designed to engage people in sharing the values guiding their daily lives, inspired by a 1950s radio show of the same name and hosted by renowned journalist Edward R. Murrow.

Morrow said the program sought “to point to the common meeting grounds of beliefs, which is the essence of brotherhood and the floor of our civilization.”

A fitting sentiment indeed, because when This I Believe was revived in 2005, it happened right here in Possibility City, home of the Muhammad Ali Center — an institution dedicated to inspiring the potential that lies within all of us.

Louisville is a place of hope, opportunity, imagination, and virtually unlimited possibility — and, to paraphrase the Greatest, when you can back it up, it ain’t bragging.

Believe.
