shareHome-made videos about Possibility City? Shoot!
Louisville is rich with attractions, from the Ali Center to one of the nation’s finest urban park systems. Now there’s a place where people from Louisville or beyond can share their favorite attractions online.

It’s called the Share Louisville Project, and it’s a Web site where people can upload their own videos about Louisville.

Click here to visit the site.

Not only will you find loads of places you probably already love, but you’ll find some new ones you might not have even thought of as attractions, like the creek at Big Rock or a cool, quirky video featuring many of our local eateries.

Better yet, there’s a even a nifty “Share” function so you can send videos to friends. You can even send the video of the adorable dog in the cycling helmet. . . .

camera_1I too would like to make a movie
If you or someone you know has a hankering (or better yet, a video camera) to make a short movie about Louisville, you can click here to get the down-low on on the upload. There are giveaways and prizes, so think of it as two-way holiday gift between you and Possibility Citizens.

Psssst . . . Can You Keep a Louisville Secret?

September 1st, 2009 by admin | See what 19 other Friends of Lou had to say about this.

Can You Keep a Secret?20000_button
If you can, that’s good to know. But that’s the exact opposite of what we need Friends of Lou to do.

You know Louisville. You know what we’re talking about. But loads of people aren’t as lucky — so we’re asking for your help.

Recruit-a-Friend-of-Lou Month doesn’t sound cool enough for a place called Possibility City, so we’re calling September’s month-long recruitment campaign the Friend of Lou-a-thon.

Our goal is to recruit 20,000 members. (Sounds like a lot, but we’ve got a head start and already have over 16,000.) Anyway, here’s where you come in. . . .

Start Spreading the Word
We need your help finding everyone who loves Louisville. If you want some ideas, try a few of these:

  1. Update your Twitter and Facebook status to say, “I’m a Friend of Lou, Why aren’t you? http://friendoflou.com” (or something like that).
  2. Send an email to everyone you know proclaiming your love for Louisville. And while you’re at it, ask them to become a Friend of Lou, too.
  3. Add “If you love Louisville, you’ll love being a Friend of Lou. http://friendoflou.com” to your email signature.

For a whole toolbox of nifty ways to recruit people, click here.

Since everyone loves to be in the know, we thought we’d share a sneak-peek of a work-in-progress. We’ve started to gather some of Louisville’s well-known — and not-so-well-known — talking heads.

And you guessed it: they’re Friends of Lou, too.

See if you recognize all of them, and keep an eye out for the full-length video coming later this month.

Click here to get a sneak-peek of the Friend of Lou video.

Thank you in advance for loving Louisville and helping us share this great city of possibilities far and wide. And remember: There’s no point having a secret if you can’t share it with someone.

The Best Louisville Movie Ever Made (This Week)
CLICK HERE to watch what could be the coolest five-minute movie about Louisville ever shot.

Let’s face it. Louisville is the sort of place that somehow inspires people to get together to create art.*

Like movies.

In fact, over the next few weeks, Louisville embraces all things cinematographic.

*By the way, Louisville isn’t just home to aspiring film-makers. The song “Smile. Today’s the Day” was written and performed by Louisvillian Nick Dickinson.
