Louisville: Now You’re Thinking!
Where Great Ideas Come to Be Hatched
“To have a great idea, have a lot of them,” Thomas Edison once said.
And he would know. One of his many great ideas was living in Louisville, where he worked on his inventions and other existing technologies. So the next time you turn on a light to read — good idea! — or listen to recorded music — good idea! — remember to thank Thomas Alva Edison, former resident of Possibility City.
A Celebration of Ideas
Mr. Edison has moved on, but there’s still no shortage of the intellectually curious. And that’s exactly what IdeaFestival celebrates. The yearly event (at the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts) is September 19–22 this year, and features speakers from around the world discussing “the future of the arts, business, technology, design, science, philosophy and education.”
IdeaFestival is always a hit, so get your tickets before the sessions sell out.
Now That’s a Good Idea
We don’t want to brag, but that’s what we do in the video below. With a tip of the hat to another of Mr. Edison’s enduring inventions — motion pictures — we highlight a few of the better ideas in Louisville’s past, present, and future.
