How to Visit Louisville Again for the Very First Time
Stay Home and Become a Tourist
For the last few years Possibility City has hosted Hometown Tourist events to encourage Louisvillians to re-experience Louisville with their families — as if they were tourists.
Because of this somewhat novel approach to sharing our wonderful city, we often get touristy-type questions — so here’s a summary of the more common ones, plus our answers.
Top Five Questions Asked by Tourists to Louisville
- Will I see anyone famous? Louisville’s certainly been home to a wide range of celebs, from the inventor of chewing gum to one of the most famous people of all time, Muhammad Ali, but we also enjoy a reputation of gracious hospitality. In other words, stars and celebrities very well might be here, but please don’t bother them.
- Do I have to wear sunglasses and carry a camera? The sites might dazzle you and it’s always nice to take pictures to share with others, but please feel free to dress any way that makes you feel relaxed.
- Is it difficult to find my way around town? No, not if you’re (a) used to navigating by unique and quirky landmarks (like the world’s largest White Castle or the home of the original Cheeseburger); or (b) comfortable going up to complete strangers and being offered a series of warm and friendly (but always scenic) directions.
- I want to get my grandkid something. Look no further: Possibility City Gifts.
- Everyone looks so happy here. Is it complicated to get in? About the only thing we recommend as part of citizenship is membership in the Friend of Lou program and a sunny disposition. You can join Friend of Lou by clicking HERE. The sunny disposition will arrive shortly thereafter.
Now, if all that isn’t enough for you, you should watch the animated movie. CLICK HERE to see Louisville like you’ve never seen Louisville before.
Still not sold? The deal’s being sweetened with big discounts on loads of attractions, 50%-off Louisville logo apparel and gifts. CLICK HERE for details.
They say you can never go home again. But when your home is in a place called Possibility City, we don’t think you can ever go home enough.
